Student Project - Staging/Level art for Incagram

Incagram is my graduating project, created with 8 other students. It is a cartoony, family friendly VR experience.
You impersonate a mesoamerican god who has to watch over his island, while messy, unruly tourists make their tour on it. You must see that they finish their tour and go back as fast as possible and clean up the trash they litter your island with.

One of my big missions on the project was the staging of the scene, building it with everybody's props and following the level design precisely. What I like most about this is trying to imagine and hint at stories behind the scene, and also making sure there is always that hint of chaos in how things are placed, scaled etc ... so that it feels more life-like.

The player is giant in the scale of the environment. They are approximately as high as the great statues sitting besides the temple. It turned out to be challenging because the engine is not very adapted to the scale mixup.

Here is a view of the village that is the docking and starting point of the tourists. The level art here was made clearer than the rest to help the new player understand objectives and mechanics.

This is a view of the passage from the forest to the temple. This passage is only made of interactable objects, so it was also tricky to adjust the props for the pathfinding.
